Cuban Moves from Real to Virtual Hoops

BattleBall game released for Facebook

Mark Cuban loves basketball … a lot.

In fact, he’s not content with owning the Dallas Mavericks or your basic game of rich-guy pick-up hoops.

Nope. He teamed up with Schell Games to create a new virtual hardwoods game called BattleBall, which is geared for Facebook because, dear heavens, something needs to make FarmVille just go away.

In Cuban’s own words, or at least those attributed to him in a news release, “The social gaming space is exploding!” Cuban said. “BattleBall is taking the love people have for basketball and channeling it into the virtual world. You can compete with your friends and swat their jumpers into the stands without breaking a sweat. My character has great calves, too.”

Um, a little too much information, there, Cubes.

Anyway, you can check out a promotional video at YouTube and watch a few animated guys get schooled by some other animated guys, or just head over to Facebook and get yourself some great calves.

Bruce Felps owns and operates East Dallas Times, an online community news outlet serving the White Rock Lake area. He was lousy at real hoops and probably would suck at this, too.
