Texas Monthly has launched a new website and iPhone app for barbecue buffs, which locates nearby barbecue restaurants based on the user's location
The website and app finds barbecue joints in the state and all over the world, delivers reviews and connects barbecue enthusiasts, according to Texas Monthly.
The website and app tap into social networking by connecting users and pulling in their comments when they check in at barbecue joints. Users can then browse through comments, reply to them or start their own discussion.
One post for example mentions a barbecue-scented cologne. "Until now, no fragrance manufacturer has ever succeeded in bottling the intoxicating scents associated with barbeque and its mixture of spices, smoke and meat," said a user from Austin.
Riveting stuff.
But all kidding aside, it's a pretty cool combo uniting pulled pork-obsessed-foodies to other pit masters.
