Stars Place Bursh on IR; Activate Steve Ott

Burish, 28, suffered a broken hand Tuesday

The Dallas Stars announced Thursday that the club has placed forward Adam Burish on injured reserve with a broken hand, retroactive to Nov. 15.

He is expected to be out for at least four weeks. The team also announced that it has activated Steve Ott from injured reserve.

Burish, 28, suffered a broken hand during Tuesday's game against the Florida Panthers. Prior to his injury, Burish had registered points in six of his last 14 games (3 goals, 4 assists).

The 6-foot, 191-pound forward has scored eight of his 11 goals as a Dallas Star when the club is either trailing by one goal or tied in the contest. Burish posted new career-highs in goals (8), assists (6) and points (14) last season with Dallas.

Ott, 29, was placed on injured reserve on Nov. 10 (retroactive to Oct. 29) and has missed the last six games due to a lower-body injury. The 6-foot, 192-pound forward skated in all 82 games last season, posting 12 goals and 20 assists while leading the club with 183 penalty minutes and 252 hits.

The Dallas Stars are currently in first place in the Pacific Division with an 11-6-0 record and play the Colorado Avalanche Friday night in Denver at 8 p.m. CT (TV: FOX Sports Southwest, Radio: 1310 The Ticket).

The Stars will return home after the game to take on the San Jose Sharks on Saturday at American Airlines Center (7 pm CT face-off).
