Crews will bring down a 150-foot wind-damaged light tower at Texas Tech's football stadium and keep people away from the site for safety reasons.
A crane was being used Friday at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock to lower the light tower and examine the damage.
Winds topping 40 mph Thursday damaged part of the southeast light tower at the stadium that seats more than 60,000. Nearby structures were evacuated as a precaution. Nobody was hurt.
Workers at the south end zone office building, the football training facility and the athletic training center were told not to report to those sites Friday until the area has been certified as safe.
