Webb: “Zero Issues” on the Mound Sunday

Brandon Webb has gotten back on the mound for the Texas Rangers, calling it "definitely a step in the right direction" to finally pitch in a major league game for the first time in two years.

Webb threw 26-28 pitches Sunday, the first time in 10 days the right-hander threw off a mound. He says he "felt really good" and had "zero issues."

After a short bullpen session during the first workout of spring training, the Rangers said they wanted Webb to build up arm strength. He went through a program throwing off flat ground and longer distances under the supervision of pitching coach Mike Maddux.

Webb hasn't pitched in the majors since the 2009 season opener for Arizona because of shoulder surgery.
