Vince Young Headed to Canada to Finalize CFL Deal: Agent

Former NFL quarterback Vince Young appears set to return to football — in Canada.

Young's agent Leigh Steinberg tweeted Wednesday that he was on his way to Regina to finalize a deal with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Canadian Press, citing an unidentified source, said the University of Texas alum also was making the trip and that the Riders planned to introduce him at a news conference Thursday.

Steinberg created a stir on Twitter last month by saying he was talking to the Riders about the two-time Pro Bowl quarterback.

Young turns 34 in May and hasn't been on an NFL roster since the 2014 offseason when he was with Cleveland for two weeks. He hasn't played in a regular-season NFL game since 2011 when he was with Philadelphia.

Before that, Young spent five seasons with the Tennessee Titans, who selected him No. 3 overall in the 2006 NFL Draft. The 2006 Offensive Rookie of the Year passed for 8,964 yards and 46 touchdowns while rushing for 1,380 yards and 12 touchdowns during his time in Tennessee and led the Titans to a 30-17 record.

In college, Young led the Longhorns to back-to-back Rose Bowl wins, including a 41-38 win over USC in the 2006 BCS National Championship. He finished second in the 2005 Heisman Trophy voting to USC's Reggie Bush.
