UTEP Runs Away from North Texas for 35-17 Win

Nathan Jeffery ran for three first-half touchdowns as UTEP built a 28-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 35-10 win over North Texas Saturday night.

Jefferys capped the Miners' opening drive with a 31-yard run for a touchdown, and then scored from the 2 to make it 14-0 after one quarter. He added a 5-yard run for a touchdown midway through the second quarter to make it 28-0 at halftime.

Aaron Jones ran for 177 yards on 16 carries and scored a pair of touchdown runs for UTEP (6-4, 4-2 Conference USA). Jefferys had seven carries for 46 yards and the Miners finished with 351 yards rushing.

Andy McNulty threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Jeffrey Wilson in the fourth quarter and Wilson ran in from the 2 in the final two minutes as the Mean Green (3-7, 2-5) rallied.
