UT-Arlington Lands Five on All-Sun Belt Baseball Team

UT-Arlington Mavericks baseball had five players named to the All-Sun Belt conference teams, league officials announced prior to the start of the Sun Belt Conference Championship.

Second baseman Darien McLemore and catcher Brady Cox were first-team selections. Pitcher Kadon Simmons, outfielder Quintin Rohrbaugh and designated hitter Colton Turner were named to the second team.

McLemore, son of former Rangers second baseman Mark McLemore, leads the Mavericks with five home runs. His .332 batting average ranks seventh in the league.

Cox is one of 15 catchers in the country to be selected as a Johnny Bench Award semifinalist. The junior catcher currently ranks third in the Sun Belt with a .368 batting average and his 78 hits lead the team.

Simmons leads all conference pitchers with nine wins. He was named the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week in April following a complete game, three-hit shutout against Georgia Southern where he struck out a team high 10.

Rohrbaugh ranks fifth in the league with a .350 batting average. He set a UTA school record with six runs scored in a 21-8 win at Arkansas-Little Rock earlier this month.

Turner missed nearly a month of playing time midway through the season due to injury but still managed to make it onto the all-conference team. He has 37 RBI this season, with 17 of those in the final three weeks.
