Ben Uzoh scored 16 of his 25 points in the first half to lead Tulsa to a 88-79 victory over Texas-Arlington Tuesday night.

Although Tulsa (8-4) never trailed, Texas-Arlington kept within striking distance by hitting 10 three-pointers, including five of eight treys by Brandon Long, who led the Mavericks with 22 points.

Glenn Andrews added 20 points for the Golden Hurricane, who had five players in double figures.

Tulsa was leading 57-46 when center Jerome Jordan picked up his fourth foul. In Jordan's absence, the Mavericks (4-6) cut the lead to four at 63-59 with 7:90 left in the game.

After Jordan returned with 3:33 remaining, the Golden Hurricane widened the lead to 75-65, but Texas-Arlington wasn't done yet.

The Mavericks came within five at 78-73 with 1:25 left, but that was as close as they would get.

Jordan finished with 12 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks.
