Tournament play begins Thursday at the Riviera Country Club in West LA

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Clippers owner Steve Ballmer are among the amateurs who will tee-up with some of the world's top golfers Wednesday when the Genesis Open Pro-Am begins at Riviera Country Club.

Rodgers and Ballmer will be part of a foursome that includes World Golf Hall of Fame member Vijay Singh. Pro Football Hall of Fame member Jerry Rice, International Boxing Hall of Fame member Sugar Ray Leonard, actor Mark Wahlberg, saxophonist Kenny G, and One Direction singer-songwriter and guitarist Niall Horan are also set to play in the pro-am.

Fans will be allowed to take cameras on the course, which will not permitted when tournament play begins Thursday. The smaller crowds also allow the fans to get closer to the action.

The professional field includes 19 of the top 30 players in the Official World Group Ranking, topped by Australian Jason Day, the world's top-ranked men's golfer.

The field of 144 also includes reigning U.S. Open champion and PGA Tour Player of the Year Dustin Johnson; 2015 Masters and U.S. Open Champion Jordan Spieth; 2013 Masters and 2005 tournament champion Adam Scott; 2016 Olympic gold medalist Justin Rose; 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Matt Kuchar; 2016 PGA Championship winner Jimmy Walker; and World Golf Hall of Fame member Phil Mickelson.

Tiger Woods canceled a news conference scheduled for Wednesday after being advised by doctors to limit all activities after receiving daily treatment the last several days on his back spasms, which forced him to withdraw from the tournament. This is the first year that the tournament will be operated by Woods' company, TGR Live.

Tickets are $25 with all military veterans eligible to receive 25 percent off after verification through GovX.
