At first, it's almost perceived as a playful joke.
But once people actually see and realize there's a lazy river in right field, they're in disbelief.
The lazy river is officially open for laziness and fans are taking full advantage.
It fits up to 200 swimmers and it's roughly the size of a NHL hockey rink.
"It is the largest water feature in a sports stadium in the entire world," said Matt Ratliff, senior director of marketing and promotions. "So, not just in baseball. Not just here in Texas, even though everything is a little bit bigger here in Texas, but in the entire world this is the largest feature in a sports stadium."
Even the RoughRider players enjoy the lazy river. Come early enough and you'll find the Texas Rangers top overall prospect Lewis Brinson lazily floating down the right field river.
"This is awesome. This is best idea ever," said Brinson. "I know a couple of big league parks have pools, and maybe some minor league parks have pools but I don't think anyone has a lazy river as big as this."

Perhaps the most important thing the lazy river brings is new fans to the stadium, whether they're paying attention to the game or not.
"I actually don't really watch baseball but I am now," said a young fan. "Because of the lazy river we're avid baseball fans."
"The young, single crowd can come out and have a good time. Mom and dad can bring their two kids and have a good time. And grandma and grandpa can jump in a tube and float around," said Ratliff.
Grandma and grandpa can buy individual tickets for Thursday home games at $39 a piece, which includes unlimited food and drinks. Otherwise, they can purchase group packages for the other six days of the week.
