Texas Motor Speedway president Eddie Gossage is being treated for cancer.
In a statement, TMS' public relations team said the cancer was caught early last fall and began treatment around the Samsung 500 in April and the Bombardier Learjet 550k in June.
The media relations team said the most intense treatments took pace during the past month and proved to be successful, they would not reveal what type of cancer Gossage is battling.
Gossage is recuperating at home and plans to return to the office sometime in August.
