TCU's Tough Schedule for 2009

Horned Frogs look to improve on 11-2 season.

TCU released its 2009 football schedule with plans to play each of its 12 games on Saturdays.

The Frogs open the season on the road at Virginia, September 12, followed by their first home game against Texas State September 19.

 

Here is the schedule breakdown:

 

2009 TCU Football Schedule

Sept. 12 - at Virginia, time is to be announced

Sept. 19 - Texas State, 6 p.m.

Sept. 26 - at Clemson, time to be announced

Oct. 3 - SMU, 7 p.m. (The Mtn.)

Oct. 10 - at Air Force*, 6:30 p.m. (CBS College Sports Network - HD)

Oct. 17 - Colorado State*, 3 p.m. (VERSUS - HD)

Oct. 24 - at BYU*, 6:30 p.m. (VERSUS - HD)

Oct. 31 - UNLV*, 3 p.m. (VERSUS - HD)

Nov. 7 - at San Diego State*, 3 p.m. (VERSUS - HD)

Nov. 14 - Utah*, 6:30 p.m. (CBS College Sports - HD)

Nov. 21 - at Wyoming, 1 p.m. (The Mtn.)

Nov. 28 - New Mexico, Noon (The Mtn.)

The Horned Frogs, who will be in their fifth season of Mountain West Conference play, open league action with an Oct. 10 contest at Air Force before hosting Colorado State on Oct. 17 at 3 p.m.

TCU will travel to BYU on Oct. 24. The Frogs and Cougars had met on a Thursday the previous three years.

TCU hosts UNLV at 3 p.m. on Halloween (Oct. 31) before traveling to San Diego State (Nov. 7) for a 1 p.m. Pacific time kickoff. Between regular-season wins over the Aztecs in 2005 and 2007 and Poinsettia Bowl victories in 2006 and 2008, TCU has won at Qualcomm Stadium in each of the last four years.

Utah comes to Fort Worth on Nov. 14 for a 6:30 p.m. contest. It will be the first time since TCU began Mountain West Conference play in 2005 that the teams will play on a Saturday. The previous four meetings between the Frogs and Utes were on Thursdays.

The Frogs are at Wyoming on Nov. 21 before closing the regular season with a noon home game versus New Mexico on Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 28).
