TCU Wide Receiver Brandon Carter Arrested on Marijuana Possession Charge

Wide receiver, female arrested for possession of marijuana

Texas Christian University wide receiver Brandon Carter was arrested Tuesday for possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, Carter, 21, was driving a Lexus that belonged to 22-year-old Alexis Harris.  Harris, who was in the passenger seat, had two outstanding warrants for her arrest.

When police ran the license plate at about 5:15 p.m., officers learned of Harris' warrants and pulled the driver over on the 1600 block of Calhoun Street.

Both Carter and Harris were arrested for possession of marijuana.

DallasNews.com reports that Harris is a graduate of Euless Trinity High School whose off-the-field distractions have led to a disappointing collegiate career.

Wednesday afternoon, the university released the following statement:

“The University and the Athletics Department are aware of the arrest and are looking into details surrounding it. In general, if a student is alleged to be in violation of the University’s student code of conduct, they are afforded a disciplinary hearing to determine personal responsibility.  Upon determination, the student may face consequences from the University, and possibly the football team, above and beyond any legal consequences the student might face.”

At this time, police have revealed no further information about the arrest.
