TCU Baseball Player Charged With Drunken Driving

A Texas Christian University baseball player was arrested Sunday morning, charged with driving while intoxicated.

Red shirt sophomore Connor Beck, 21, was stopped by the Fort Worth Police Department on suspicion of drunken driving along the 2500 block of Park Hill Drive just before 5 a.m.

A police report indicated Beck's blood-alcohol level was at least .15 — the legal limit in Texas is .08. Police said in addition to the drunken driving charge, Beck was also arrested for resisting arrest and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Beck is free after posting bond. His initial appearance on the DWI charge is in County Criminal Court #10 on Oct. 9 at 8:45 a.m. At this time, charges have not been filed for resisting arrest or the weapons violation.

The outfielder is a native of Midland who appeared in 11 games for the Horned Frogs in the 2015 season.

At this time, TCU has not issued a statement.
