Super Bowl XLV? More like Hair Bowl I

Super Bowl XLV next Sunday at Cowboys Stadium has all the makings of an NFL classic.

Steelers vs. Packers. Storied franchise vs. Storied franchise. Elite quarterback vs. Elite quarterback. Underappreciated, highly effective defense vs. Steel Curtain defense. The matchups go on and on.

But one matchup with draw the attention of hair lovers everywhere next Sunday, and coincidentally, it'll be between two of the biggest Billy BadA's in the league.

Green Bay linebacker Clay Matthews was the Sporting News Defensive Player of the Year after racking up 14 sacks. He also has disgustingly long, stringy hair.

Pittsburgh safety Troy Polamalu had a subpar season by his All-Pro standards, with only seven interceptions and one forced fumble.

Many laughed a couple of years back when Polamalu had his hair insured and sponsored for a cool $1 million by shampoo company Head & Shoulders.

Just this week, Suave inked Matthews to an undisclosed one-year deal with endorsements and media appearances for his hair.

So who wins? Matthews definitely loses out in volume, but I don't recall him ever being tackled by his hair either, which puts Polamalu at a disadvantage.

Let the best man win.
