The Dallas Stars have signed free-agent defenseman Jeff Woywitka to a two-year deal.

The team announced the deal Tuesday and it's worth $600,000 for next season and $700,000 for the 2010-11 season.

The 25-year-old defenseman played in 65 games with the St. Louis Blues last season. He scored three goals and 15 assists for 18 points and 57 penalty minutes.

In 152 career NHL games, all with the Blues, the 6-foot-3, 217-pound defenseman scored six goals and 29 assists for 35 points and 106 penalty minutes.

Philadelphia originally chose him in first round, 27th overall, in 2001.
