Stars' Loui Eriksson Is Going to Vancouver

The Swedish hockey team announced its Olympic roster Sunday

Dallas Stars' forward Loui Eriksson is going to the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, but he won't be playing for Team USA.

The Swedish hockey team named Eriksson to its 23-man roster on Sunday.

While his Olympic dream is being fulfilled, Eriksson, 24, also gets to fulfill another dream -- playing on the same team as his childhood hero Peter Forsberg. Forsberg, 36, who has been battling chronic foot problems, will be competing in his last Olympic games this February.

Sweden won the gold medal at the 2006 Olympics in Torino, Italy.

Seven other Dallas Stars hope to make it to the Olympic Games in Vancouver, but only one for Team USA.

Mike Modano - USA (team will be announced Jan. 1, during the NHL Winter Classic on NBC)
Karlis Skrastins - Latvia (team will be announced Tuesday)
Jere Lehtinen - Finland (team will be announced Wednesday)
Brad Richards - Canada (team will also be announced Wednesday)
Brendan Morrow - Canada (team will also be announced Wednesday)
Stephane Robidas - Canada (team will also be announced Wednesday)
James Neal - Canada (team will also be announced Wednesday)
