Ruff Says He “Really Can't” Give a Timetable on Seguin

Tyler Seguin hasn't skated since Game 2 of the first round series against the Wild

On Wednesday, Dallas Stars general manager Jim Nill gave something of an update on injured center Tyler Seguin, saying that he doesn’t know when he’ll return to the ice, but that he hasn’t yet and he’ll need four or five days of skating after that before returning to game action.

Seguin suffered a partially cut achilles tendon on March 17 and missed most of the final month of the regular season. He returned to play in the Game 2 victory over the Wild, but suffered an injury related to the initial achilles injury.

In an attempt at following up on Nill’s update, Stars coach Lindy Ruff was asked Thursday if he could give an estimate on Seguin.

I really can’t,” Ruff said, per the Dallas Morning News. “I don't even have a guesstimate on it. I don't even think it'd be fair. If I guessed and if I'm off, everybody else will be wondering why did he guess that?”

Fair enough, Lindy. Fair enough.
