Rangers Starter Harrell Exits Early With Groin Strain

Texas Rangers starter Lucas Harrell left Tuesday night's game against Oakland after two innings because of a right groin strain.

Harrell walked four and gave up three hits while facing only 12 hitters. The right-hander allowed only one run, benefiting from a double play in the first before the A's left the bases loaded in the second.

With the bases loaded in the second, Harrell started stretching after a 3-0 pitch to Danny Valencia. That prompted a trainer visiting the mound with manager Jeff Banister. After Harrell threw a few warmup pitches, he stayed in the game and forced in a run when he walked Valencia before Stephen Vogt's inning-ending fly out.

Harrell was making his fourth start for Texas since being acquired in a trade from Atlanta.
