Rangers, Rays to be Matinees

    The Texas Rangers will play matinee games with the Tampa Bay Rays in the first three games of the first American League playoff round.

    According to the schedule released Sunday by Major League Baseball, the Rangers will open their best-of-five series with the Rays at 12:37 p.m. CDT Wednesday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.,

    Game 2 is scheduled for 1:37 p.m. CDT Thursday at the Trop. Then, the series moves to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington for Game 3 at 4:07 p.m. CDT Saturday.

    No times have been set for Game 4 in Arlington or Game 5 in St. Petersburg, should they prove necessary.
