The Rangers are a 95-loss team that’s, so far, decided to merely slumber during baseball’s Winter Meetings with nary a peep.
But, to be fair, they do intend to keep all their good football players.
The Rangers have placed Russell Wilson – who moonlights as the quarterback of the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks – on their Triple-A Round Rock roster to ensure another team can’t nab in the upcoming Rule 5 draft.
Obviously there are no imminent plans for Wilson to quit his football gig, but had the Rangers not elevated him another baseball team could’ve swooped in and stolen him for $12,500.
Wilson, who spent one day in Surprise last spring, will be invited back to Rangers’ camp this year.
