The Texas Rangers said published reports indicating that they would not be issuing cash refunds for playoff tickets were in error.
The Rangers' John Blake said Friday that team sales representatives are reaching out fans who purchased 2009 ALDS tickets and asking them if they want to roll them over for 2010 tickets. If the fan declines, Blake insists the fans will receive their refund.
Since the Rangers failed to make the playoffs for the 10th straight seasonw, the ALDS tickets were never needed by the fans.
Blake said that the post-season ticket refund process generally takes 4-6 weeks. Since the Rangers were not eliminated from playoff contention until Sept. 26, refunds by early November are not unreasonable, Blake said.
