Rangers Bring Back Relief Pitcher

You might have to struggle to remember, but Mason Tobin was once a Texas Rangers relief pitcher on their Opening Day roster in a year which saw the Rangers go to the World Series.

Of course, he didn't make it through much of the 2011 season before encountering arm trouble and was long gone from Rangers fans' minds by the time the Rangers lost the World Series that year in seven games to the St. Louis Cardinals.

But now, Tobin is back in the Rangers system after he was signed to a minor league deal after pitching the past two seasons in the San Francisco Giants system.

Tobin missed all of 2012 after working just 5 1/3 innings for the Rangers in 2011 before his Tommy John surgery.
