Rangers Already Giving Roster a Makeover

From the manager on down, we know the Rangers will look drastically different in 2015.

The transformation is already beginning.

Over the weekend the Rangers acquired infielder Ed Lucas from the Miami Marlins on a waiver claim. Not a sexy transaction but the Rangers need upgrades at most positions, including utility infielder.

Lucas, 32, played all four infield spots and left and right field for Miami this season, hitting .251 with a homer and nine RBI in 69 games. In 2013 he hit .256 with four homers and 28 RBI in 94 games.

A native Texan who was born in Duncanville and graduated from UT-Arlington, Richie Whitt has been a mainstay in the Metroplex media since 1986. He’s held prominent roles on all media platforms including newspaper (Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Dallas Observer), radio (105.3 The Fan) and TV (co-host on TXA 21 and numerous guest appearances, including NBC 5). He currently lives in McKinney with his wife, Sybil, and two very spoiled dogs.
