Rangers Add to Roster For September Pennant Push

The Texas Rangers made big roster moves just before Tuesday's doubleheader. The moves are part of the roster expansion allowed in September.
The team recall pitcher Brandon McCarthy from the 60-day disabled list. McCarthy will pitch in the second game of Tuesday's twin bill.

Other moves made by the team include:

-Reinstated infielder Esteban German from the 15-day disabled list
-Reinstated left-handed pitcher Eddie Guardado from the 15-day disabled list
-Reinstated right-handed pitcher Brandon McCarthy from the 60-day disabled list
-Recalled right-handed pitcher Warner Madrigal from Triple-A Oklahoma City
-Recalled right-handed pitcher Guillermo Moscoso from Triple-A Oklahoma City
-Purchased the contract of outfielder Craig Gentry from Double-A Frisco
-Purchased the contract of catcher Kevin Richardson from Triple-A Oklahoma City
-Recalled outfielder Brandon Boggs from Triple-A Oklahoma City and placed him on the 60-day disabled list with a left shoulder dislocation
-Designated right-handed pitcher Thomas Diamond for assignment
 
The Rangers now have a full 40-man roster, including 32 players on the active roster.
