Randle “Ready to Ride” If Murray Can't Go

Joseph Randle will be the Cowboys featured running back if DeMarco Murray is forced to miss Sunday's matchup with the Colts

The Dallas Cowboys remain optimistic that running back DeMarco Murray will be able to play in Sunday’s matchup with the Indianapolis Colts at AT&T Stadium after suffering a broken bone in his hand against the Eagles, but if he can’t go, Joseph Randle believes he’ll be ready to carry the load.

In fact, Randle says the chance to start won’t change his preparation this week.

I’m ready to ride no matter what,” Randle said, per the Dallas Morning News. “Whatever the situation is I’m ready for it. I’m always one play away so I’ve been approaching every week like I’m the starter.”

Randle has 237 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries in 2014. Lance Dunbar, who will join Randle in filling in for Murray if he’s held out, has 91 yards on 26 carries.

“If my number is called, I’ll be ready if he’s not able to go,” Dunbar said of Murray. “I like to compete. I like to play. If it happens, I would love to get more carries.”
