Patrick Eaves Could Return in Game 4

Eaves has been out since Game 1 with a lower body injury

If Tuesday night’s 6-1 loss to the Blues in Game 3 was any indicator, the Dallas Stars could certainly use some reinforcements, and it looks like some help could be on the way in the person of right winger Patrick Eaves.

Eaves was injured when a Stephen Johns shot hit him in the skate during Game 1 of the series with the Blues, missed Game 2, and did not travel with the team to St. Louis for Game 3. He and injured center Tyler Seguin skated on Monday though and, unlike Seguin, Stars coach Lindy Ruff believes Eaves could be available in Game 4.

The encouraging thing is they are still skating,” Ruff said, per the Dallas Morning News. “Patty felt a lot better yesterday than he did the day before, which was ahead of where we thought he would be. I would anticipate—because it’s nothing serious—I would anticipate him feeling a lot better today and possibly being an option for Game 4 or as late as maybe Game 5.”

Meanwhile, Ruff indicated that Seguin would still need some time.

“Tyler, that was his first day (Monday) of really getting on the ice and getting something done, so he’s in a little different category,” Ruff said.
