Chandler and Barea both wanted to come back to Dallas after winning the title, but owner Mark Cuban didn't offer them long-term contracts because he thought it would hurt the team's salary cap flexibility under the new labor agreement.
The Mavericks brought back Chandler in an offseason trade with the New York Knicks, and Barea signed a veteran minimum deal Wednesday after reaching a buyout agreement with Minnesota.
Both had signed four-year deals with their previous teams.
Gordon Hayward and Trey Burke scored 16 apiece for the Jazz. Burke had a game-high seven assists.
