North Texas Mean Green Gearing Up For 2016

The North Texas Mean Green will open the season Sept. 3 at home against the SMU Mustangs.

New head coach Seth Littrell is starting his first full season for UNT after taking over for Dan McCarney, who was fired last season after a 66-7 loss to Portland State.

Littrell has the tough task of turning around a program that is 5-19 in the last two seasons. North Texas ranked 121st in the nation in total offense and 120th in defense in 2015. North Texas had just one win in 2015.

Littrell has a track record of turning programs around. He turned North Carolinaโ€™s offense into one of the best in 2015. The Tar Heels scored over 30 points nine times last season.

UNT is hard at practice preparing for the 2016 season. Littrell says he's already seeing improvement and likes what he's seeing out of his team so far.
