Gary Patterson's Texas Christian University Horned Frogs, who finished ranked No. 6 in the nation after a Fiesta Bowl loss to Boise State, signed 18 players from Texas and Louisiana on National Signing Day.
Locally, the Frogs are picking up Allen quarterback Matt Brown, Little Elm defensive lineman Clifton Murphy and Cedar Hill defensive back Elisha Olabode.
Brown threw for more than 6,800 yards in his three years at Allen. In 2009, he threw 24 touchdowns and only two interceptions on 235 attempts, according to Rivals.com who ranked him the No. 11 quarterback in the country.
Rivals named Olabode No. 54 in the country among safeties. In 2009, he accumulated 88 tackles and two interceptions. Murphy tallied eight sacks, 72 tackles and 29 tackles for a loss in his senior year at Little Elm.
The team enjoyed a perfect 12-0 regular season and won the Mountain West conference before playing in their first BCS Bowl. After much fanfare leading up to the game, TCU fell to Boise State 17-10 in a bowl game rematch of sorts. TCU defeated Boise State 17-16 in the previous season's Poinsettia Bowl.
