Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill is one of three finalists for the NHL General Manager of the year.
This is the first time Nill has been up for the award.
The Stars opened the 2015-2016 season in record fashion and ended the regular season as Central Division champions before falling in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to the St. Louis Blues.
It was the Stars' first division title in 10 years.
Nill, who wrapped up his third season as the Stars general manager, is the 11th general manager in franchise history.
