NFL Player Nabbed Driving 147 MPH

Chris Jennings had just been cut by the Jets

Veteran NFL running back Chris Jennings was clocked at 147 miles per hour by state troopers in Ohio.

The football player, who had just been released by the New York Jets, was more than 80 miles per hour above the speed limit of 65. He was driving a 2004 BMW in the Sunday incident on Interstate 77 in Guernsey County. Jennings was also driving with a suspended license, according to Lt. Anne Ralston, Public Information Officer for the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Jennings is due to appear in court on Wednesday, according to Fox 8 News.

Jennings, who did not play in the league last year, previously played for the Cleveland Browns. He was signed in January by the Jets, but cut as the team winnowed its roster down for the start of the season. While with the Browns, Jennings was arrested in 2010 in Cleveland after getting into a fight outside a downtown bar.
