NFC East Watch: RG3 Out, Colt In

Two years ago this week, Robert Griffin III was striking fear into all of the NFL when he put on a quarterbacking display on Thanksgiving Day against the Dallas Cowboys, torching the Dallas defense in embarrassing fashion and starting a seven-game win streak to help the Redskins end up with the NFC East title in his rookie season.

He was NFL Rookie of the Year, and it was good to see for Redskins fans, considering they'd dealt a ton of picks to the St. Louis Rams to get the No. 2 pick in that draft to take the Heisman Trophy winning quarterback from Baylor.

Now, things have turned sour for RG3, and it's been a quick fall from grace, as Redskins head coach Jay Gruden officially benched RG3 in favor of former Texas quarterback Colt McCoy, who got the start in the Redskins' win over the Cowboys last month before RG3 returned the following week.

The results haven't been good for Griffin since returning from a Week 1 injury, and now he's essentially done as a Redskin after the benching. Griffin will end up somewhere else next season, but you have to wonder if you'll ever see the 2012 version again.
