NBA Playoffs Have So Far Delivered an Air Ball

Admittedly I’m biased. And yes it seems like the Mavericks were eliminated from the NBA playoffs six months ago.

But aren’t we in the midst of one of the most boring postseasons ever?

The Mavs didn’t nothing to enhance the excitement, with Rajon Rondo quitting, Chandler Parsons getting injured and the five-game loss to the Rockets in a first round that ended before all this rain started. But the rest of the league has done little to make up for it.

As we prepare for a Warriors-Cavaliers NBA Finals, the Game of the Playoffs happened way back on May 2. Clippers 111, Spurs 109 was indeed a Game 7 for the ages, but these series’ highlights have been few and far between. There’s been only one other Game 7 out of the 14 series, and it was a Rockets’ rout over those same Clippers.

LeBron James hit a buzzer-beater against the Bulls. Al Horford won a game for the Hawks with a last-second tip-in. And Steph Curry forced overtime with a miraculous 3-pointer in New Orleans.

But The Finals has a lot of work to do. Otherwise we’ll remember the 2015 playoffs for Kevin Love’s shoulder and Curry’s ugly fall more than the play on the court.
