The accolades continue to roll in for Cam Newton.

Fresh off winning the Heisman Trophy last weekend, the Auburn star was named a first-team All American by the Associated Press, reports ESPN.

The Tigers' breakout quarterback was joined on the first team by teammate, defensive lineman Nick Fairley, and fellow Heisman candidate LaMichael James of Oregon. James will lead his Ducks against Auburn in the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game in Arizona on January 10.

Big 10 champion Wisconsin, Big XII champ Oklahoma, Big XII North champion Nebraska and Oklahoma State joined Auburn in having two players each on the first team.

However, Auburn's stars shined brighter than the rest.

Newton captured the Heisman in a run away and became the first signal caller in SEC history to pass for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season. Newton accounted for 49 touchdowns (28 passing, 20 rushing, one receiving) and led the Tigers to an undefeated season.

"We knew and understood he was talented, but we didn't realize he could do things on his own that a defense just can't account for," said Auburn coach Gene Chizik.

On the other side of the ball, Fairley wrecked havoc all season, tallying 10 1/2 sacks and 21 tackles for loss from his defensive tackle position.

All four of this year's Heisman finalist were accounted for on the team. Stanford's Andrew Luck, who finished second in the Heisman voting and is projected to be a first round pick in the 2011 NFL draft, was the second team quarterback while Boise State's prolific passer, Kellen Moore, was the third team quarterback.

The complete list of all three teams can be viewed here.
