The Dallas Cowboys let the league's leading rusher from 2014 walk away in free agency to their most bitter division rival, and now they're trying to figure out how to go about replacing DeMarco Murray.
The answer won't be with one person, as they already brought in veteran bust Darren McFadden to presumably be a No. 2 option behind either a better No. 1 option or a rookie they draft next month.
One name that could be floating out there as a possible free agency get could be former New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley, who was cut loose recently after an injury-plagued stint with the Patriots.
Ridley has definitely battled injury problems, but he's just 26 years old and is just two years removed from a 1,200-yard rushing season for the Patriots that went somewhat under the radar because of Tom Brady and the Patriots' passing attack.
Imagine what a healthy Ridley could do behind the Cowboys' offensive line, which is widely regarded as the best in football. It's pretty fun, isn't it?
Ridley would be a cheap option to bring in to be complemented by McFadden and Lance Dunbar. If it didn't work out, they wouldn't have much tied in to Ridley and could just cut bait. Seems like a good enough idea.
