Mo Claiborne Playing Well, Feeling Better Than Ever

Claiborne's 2014 season ended when the former No. 6 overall pick suffered a ruptured patellar tendon in Week 4

This time last year, Morris Claiborne’s 2014 season had just come to an unfortunate end on the turf at AT&T Stadium.

In that Week 4 home win over the Saints, Claiborne suffered a non-contact ruptured patellar tendon in his left knee, an injury that--even with Claiborne’s history of injuries--stands out as one that is very difficult to return from. To add to Claiborne’s extended, no-fun offseason, he had arthroscopic surgery to strengthen the patellar tendon in his right knee.

But that’s all behind Claiborne now. The former No. 6 overall pick out of LSU says it’d be fair to say he’s playing as well this season as he ever has since coming into the league in 2012--perhaps because he’s feeling better than he ever has since coming into the league.

Definitely, you could say that,” Claiborne told Ben & Skin on 105.3-FM The Fan, via the Dallas Morning News. “I feel better than I've ever felt since entering the NFL, and I feel like I'm moving better, running better, trying to stay as sticky as I can on the receivers, matching them out of breaks. I feel good.”

Through four games, Claiborne has 14 tackles and two passes defensed, but is still looking for his first interception.
