McCoughtry, Gray Help Dream Hold On for 93-88 Win Over Wings

Reshanda Gray had 22 points and 10 rebounds -- both career highs -- and Angel McCoughtry scored five points during a decisive late run to help the Atlanta Dream beat the Dallas Wings 93-88 on Friday night.

Layshia Clarendon had 17 points, including five free throws in the final 23 seconds, and Bria Holmes scored 13 points for the Dream (13-12). McCoughtry finished with 14 points, six rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocked shots.

McCoughtry scored five consecutive points to give Atlanta a 88-83 lead with 1:16 left. Clarendon made five of six foul shots down the stretch to hold off the Wings.

Dallas (9-16) trailed 75-62 with 3 minutes left in the third quarter, but used a 12-3 run to pull within two early in the fourth. Plenette Pierson made a layup and then hit a 3-pointer to make it 83-all with 4:07 to go.

Skylar Diggins led Dallas with 29 points, and Pierson had 15 points and seven assists.

Atlanta, ranked fourth in the AP WNBA power poll, outrebounded the Wings 46-33.

Eighth-ranked Dallas has lost six straight.
