Mavs Won't Tank Games After The All Star Break

The Mavericks are starting up after the NBA All Star break and they have 25 games left in the season.

I don't see Dallas tanking they way they did last season.

Fans are returning to downtown Dallas to see the Mavs rookie sensation Luka Doncic so might as well give everyone a show. If they lose games fine, but they will be trying to win.

The Mavericks 2019 first round draft pick will go to the Atlanta Hawks if it is six or lower in the draft order. Dallas made that trade to land Luka Doncic. The price Dallas paid for the Wonder Boy was fair and smart.

The mid-season trade for 7-3 power forward Kristaps Porzingis may have set the Mavs up with two franchise players. 'The Unicorn,' as he was known with the Knicks, will not play the rest of this season as he recovers from a knee injury.

In a chat with The Dallas Morning News I was asked this question: Do you think the Mavs will be aggressive in free agency?

Scruggs: Yes. I expect the Mavs to try and bring in an impact player. The Mavs have a terrible record when it comes to landing the big fish. They couldn't get LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Deron Williams or Dwight Howard when they were top free agent options. I don't see Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson or Kyrie Irving electing to come play with Luka Doncic, but let's see what player the Mavs might land. They could also elect to wait until the summer of 2020 and make a play for Draymond Green. One thing Mavs fans know is general manager Donnie Nelson is creative and will upgrade the roster.
