Was perusing the Mavs’ website Monday and came across their “Rivalry Pack,” a three-game package of tickets starting at $58 and anchored by a visit from a marquee opponent.
Brilliant idea, because, of course, when if want to see LeBron James and the Cavaliers you’ve also got to invest in seeing the Pistons and Pelicans. Same with similar packs featuring the Spurs (Grizzlies and Timberwolves), Thunder (Warriors and Hornets) and Lakers (Jazz and Magic).
Considering the off-season moves of Chandler Parsons coming here and Jason Terry going there, I was surprised to not see the Houston Rockets included in the packages. They are a rival, and it should be escalated this season.
Since it’s the off-season and still a couple of weeks until training camp, seems the perfect time to craft a pecking order for the Mavs’ rivalries 1 to 29.
