Mavs' Offense Running Over Hapless Opponents

That, Mavs fans, is how it’s supposed to work. And, honestly, after that hideous home loss to the Miami Heat it is working.

Playing an Eastern Conference team road-weary after a West Coast trip, the Mavs pounced on the Charlotte Hornets Monday night and turned another game into another laugher.

The Mavs actually trailed, 5-0. And then … the NBA’s best offense put on another impressive early-season display.

Dallas’ ball movement and accurate shooting is just bewildering opponents to the tune of 109 points per game. Last night the Mavs raced to a 67-43 halftime lead and turned another second half into garbage time. Monta Ellis led Dallas with 18 points, but even Charlie Villanueva and Greg Smith got into the act.

In their 11 games, nine times they’ve had at least five players score 10+ points.

It’s almost as though the Mavs are playing a different – i.e., faster – game than their opponent. The Mavs have won their last four games by an average of 25 points per game.

We figured their offense would be good. Turns out we had no idea.
