Mavs ManiAACs Searching For Big Training Camp Bodies

Turns out the Mavs need some big bodies for training camp.

If you’re a Mavs Fan For Life and possess some extra love around the middle, your favorite team is looking for you. The Mavs ManiAACs are holding auditions Saturday, Aug. 16 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel at 10 a.m.

Bring your girth and your spirit and, obviously, your dance moves.

Male candidates who are 21+ and high-school graduates who make the cut will then take part in ManiAACs training camp Aug. 18-21 at Elevation Fitness Club in Dallas.

The team of hefty Mavs fans makes regular appearances on court and is guaranteed a couple times a year to make ESPN’s SportsCenter.

A native Texan who was born in Duncanville and graduated from UT-Arlington, Richie Whitt has been a mainstay in the Metroplex media since 1986. He’s held prominent roles on all media platforms including newspaper (Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Dallas Observer), radio (105.3 The Fan) and TV (co-host on TXA 21 and numerous guest appearances, including NBC 5). He currently lives in McKinney with his wife, Sybil, and two very spoiled dogs.
