Mavericks NBA Draft Trade? “You Never Know with Mark”

As the Dallas Mavericks prepare for the 2016 NBA Draft, they will do so without a single pick in the first round.

Dallas traded its pick to the Boston Celtics as part of the Rajon Rondo trade of 2014. But even with the team’s first pick slated 46th overall, the mentality stays the same, according to Mavericks general manager Donnie Nelson.

"It doesn't change it much," Nelson said. "Every draft we treat like we have a lottery pick and a late second and everything in-between."

With five teams holding multiple picks in the first round, there is also the potential for Dallas to make a trade.

"You never know with Mark (Cuban)'s history of deal making. You never know when you might find yourself in the middle of the first round," Nelson said.
