Mark Cuban Assists, Scores in National Magazine

Mark Cuban isn’t good and sitting still. Or going stagnant. Or being quiet.

Even though the Mavs are weeks from training camp, their owner is generating headlines.

This time Cuban sat down for an in-depth interview with Men’s Health magazine.

In it, Cuban dishes on the media, advice and what his life would be like without the windfall of his brainchild.

MH: What does the media get most incorrect about you?

MC: That who I am at a Mavs game is who I am the rest of the day. Mavs games are my release. I'm pretty intense, but mellow away from games.

MH: How do your think your life would've taken a different route had you not sold Broadcast.com?

Mark Cuban: That's an interesting question. Hopefully, there would be no YouTube. There would be no Pandora. There would be no Spotify. Anything that was based on streaming, we were doing way back then. If we didn't sell, we would have kept on going. Internet radio stations, subscription video, user-created and -uploaded content, all were things that you can find back then. We did about $75 million in sales in 1999 dollars and were cash flow break even, so we had a bright future ahead of us. Of course, it's all woulda coulda shoulda, but that's what I think would've happened. We knew streaming was going to dominate media. We just never got the chance to do it. Yahoo shut it down.

MH: What is the best advice you ever received?

Mark Cuban: Today is the youngest you will ever be. Live like it.
