Texas Tech offensive lineman Brandon Carter has been suspended indefinitely by pirate-loving coach Mike Leach for violating team rules.
Blayne Beal, Tech associate media relations director, told the Amarillo Globe News that "Carter has been suspended for a violation of team policy by Coach Leach. His suspension is indefinite.''
The Red Raiders didn't provide any further specifics Sunday night and Beal said Leach would have no further comment.
According to the paper, on Sunday Carter told followers of his Twitter account that he'd been suspended and stripped of his captaincy.
"I am not a captain anymore and will not be playing this week. Good luck, Red Raiders; I'll still be cheering on my family from the stands," Carter tweeted. "This is not how I saw our season ... I just cried like an idiot. I want us to be so good my last year, and I feel like I'm letting everyone down."
The Red Raiders lost to No. 17 Houston 29-28 on Saturday night.
