Julio Jones Says He'd Never Hold Out Like Dez Bryant

Bryant stayed away from offseason workouts this year as he lobbied for a new deal

Cowboys All-Pro receiver Dez Bryant made a handful of appearances at Valley Ranch this offseason but, for the most part, he stayed absent from team workouts as a means of quietly lobbying for his long-term contract.

For what it’s worth, Falcons receiver Julio Jones suggested during the team’s minicamp last month that he would never hold out the way Bryant did this spring and summer.

"I want to win," Jones said, per AL.com. "If I'm not here, I'm not here for my teammates, I'm being selfish. I don't know what Dez is doing, but I just want to be here and be the best teammate I can be and come out here and lead these guys by example."

Whether or not Bryant even heard these comments, we don’t know. But this week when the NFL Network revealed that Bryant was 15th on their annual Top 100, and Jones was 13th, Bryant seemed to take exception. He tweeted at NFL Network, simply, “lol.”
