The Buzz: As a player Olazábal made his Ryder Cup debut at age 21 in 1987 and formed the most successful partnership in the history of the competition with his compatriot and friend Seve Ballesteros. The pair won 11 matches together and losing only two. Olazábal was also Sir Nick Faldo’s Vice Captain at the 2008 Ryder Cup at Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky. He became the second Spaniard to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. He has won 23 European Tour titles, four U.S. PGA Tour titles and two in Japan. He has finished 1st on the PGA Tour six times.
