Jordie Benn Could Return Against Avs; No Concussion for Sceviour

The Stars might have the services of both Jordie Benn and Colton Sceviour on Thursday

Dallas Stars defenseman Jordie Benn could return from a nagging lower body injury on Thursday night, but he’s been cleared to return for a while now.

Benn was actually cleared for action on Monday and taken off injured reserve on Tuesday, but coach Lindy Ruff ultimately decided to hold Benn out of Tuesday night’s victory over the Jets in Winnipeg.

Jordie, for me, looked apprehensive,” Ruff said, per Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News. “I just feel he needs a couple of more practices and we'll probably get him back in Colorado.”

In other injury news, forward Colton Sceviour was held out of practice Wednesday after being forced to leave the 5-3 win over Winnipeg midway through the third period the night before, the result of a big hit by Dustin Byfuglien in the second. All things considered, Ruff is optimistic about Sceviour’s status going forward.

He’s feeling a lot better, it’s not a concussion,” Ruff said Wednesday. “We just kept him off today. He took a pretty hard blow. We’ll see where he’s at.”
