Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will soon find himself in a courtroom, testifying about the 2011 North Texas Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium (as it was known then), when hundreds of ticket holders were left out in the cold when a section of temporary seats were deemed not ready at game time.
Seven of those disappointed fans are now in court, having filed suit, and on Thursday, NBC 5 confirmed that U.S. District Judge Barbara Lynn will call the Cowboys owner/general manager in as a witness.
On Wednesday, the court listened to a taped deposition from Commissioner Roger Goodell, who put the blame for the seating fiasco not on Jones or the Cowboys, but on the league.
“I’m not blaming others. I’m blaming ourselves. I’m accepting responsibility,” Goodell said, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “It is our event. It is our responsibility to produce it in a positive way and make sure we deliver on our promise.”
